The Camp
Maili Saba Camp is a small luxury tented camp located on the edge of the magnificent Menengai Crater just outside Nakuru town. The location of Maili Saba camp is an ideal and convenient stop over for travelers who are on their way to Western Kenya or northern Kenya – Mount Elgon or Lake Turkana.
The camp is set on a place of tranquility, on the edge of the magnificent, dormant, Menengai Crater. Just a 2.5 hour drive from the capital Nairobi, just off the Nakuru - Nyaharururu tarmac road.
Getting to Maili Saba Camp from Nairobi
Driving from Nairobi on the Nairobi - Nakuru Road:
Turn right at Hotel Kunste/ Shell Filling Station Junction
You are now on Solai Road
Continue for about 10 Km and turn left, dirt road,
just after Saba Filling station
Follow the dirt road for about 1km to the camp from here.
Driving to Maili Saba from Nakuru:
Driving from Nakuru - Nairobi road
Turn left at Hotel Kunste/ Shell Filling Station Junction
You are now on Solai Road
Continue for about 10 Km and turn left, dirt road,
just after Saba Filling station
Follow the dirt road for about 1 km you find Maili Saba.
Driving to Maili Saba Camp from Nyahururu:
Follow Nyahururu - Nakuru Road
Turn right at Maili Saba Camp sign post, dirt road,
just after Saba Filling station
Follow the dirt road for about 1km to Maili Saba Camp.
Accommodation and Room features at Maili Saba Camp
Maili Saba Camp can accommodate only 24 guests at any one time. The camp has conference facilities for upto 50 guests. All the rooms are comfortable equipped with cosy beds and a pleasant private terrace for a magnificent view of the crater.
Oil lamps set a romantic mood in our rustic restaurant and bar while during breakfast you can enjoy the magnificent, silent, crater view. Dishes consist of fresh home cooked western and more Swahili influenced meals.
