Tijara is a petite romantic haven of peace which will host a maximum of 8 people. At Tijara you will only hear the roaring of the ocean as the breakers roll on to the reef, and the ever-present bird song from any number of the hundreds of species that frequent our grounds.
There are also wildlife which includes dikdik, bush-buck, wild-pigs, genet cats, bushbabies and an abundance of exotic species of butterflies…

The cool monsoon breezes that blow gently off the Indian Ocean all year round refresh the cottages, and if you find it a little too warm one can make use of the high-speed fans.
All cottages overlook the beautiful grounds and vast expanses of the azure Indian Ocean beyond. All guests will enjoy their privacy and spectacular panoramas from their own private verandas.
The traditional Swahili style of our cottages with carved doors and high mukuti (coconut thatch) roofs is complimented by exclusively handcrafted Swahili furniture with ornate carvings and ridch decoration.
All the cottages are spacious with large decked verandas you can step on to from both the room and the bathroom.
All cottages are en-suite with double washbasins, double showers and uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean from wherever you are
