More About the Tour
This is not just an ordinary tour. It is a full-day safari where we journey into Maasai country, about an hour from Nairobi, to spend an unforgettable day in a traditional village.
The community welcomes you with traditional Maasai songs and dance, inviting you to immerse yourself in their everyday lives. You will gain deep and personal insights into their culture, lifestyle, and traditions.
This is a magical safari, as we are continually amazed by the meaningful moments that unfold when guests and villagers connect throughout the day. Activities may include Maasai warriors organising a surprise celebration, sitting under an acacia tree while making traditional jewellery, and witnessing the “running of the Maasai bulls.”
Few travellers ever have the chance to visit such a special place, where this sustainable program is an integral part of the lives of the Maasai people.
Tour Program
We will pick you up from your hotel at 9:00 AM for a scenic drive to the traditional village, where you will spend the day. You will be welcomed by Maasai warriors, who will invite you to join them as they herd their cattle through a spectacular valley. Along the way, they will share cultural insights, including the time-honoured Maasai tradition of bloodletting from cattle.
It is an easy downhill walk to the village, where a group of women and children will greet you with songs and dance. The village is made up of many attas—traditional homes built from sticks and mud. You will step inside one to enjoy a cup of tea with a warrior, who will share stories about his lifestyle, rites of passage, marriage, and the roles of men and women in Maasai society.
You will then assist a Maasai mother in building a manyatta—her new home. Afterwards, as you begin to feel hungry, the Maasai women will invite you to help prepare lunch over a traditional three-stone fire.
As the afternoon unfolds, they will guide you in creating your own piece of Maasai jewellery to keep as a lasting memory of your day living the Maasai way.

What to Wear
Comfortable, closed walking shoes, a hat, and a sweater or jacket are recommended. All activities are low-impact, and comfortable clothing will help you enjoy the experience even more. Mornings and evenings can be chilly.

Some of the people you will meet speak Swahili, but communication is always made easy with the help of our guides. They will be with you every step of the way to assist with interpretation. All guides are fluent in English, Swahili, and other Kenyan languages.
Interpreters for French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, or sign language can be arranged upon request.
Your Wellbeing
We strongly advise drinking only bottled water to ensure your safety and well-being. Please do not attempt to administer first aid to community members if medical assistance is required—our trained staff will handle such situations.
If you require any medication, please bring it with you, as our centres are located some distance from medical facilities, and immediate assistance may not always be available.
