Day 1: Arrival Nairobi
Arrive at Nairobi's International Airport from where you will be met by our driver guide and transfer to Nairobi Serena Hotel in Nairobi for the evening.
Day 2: Day in Nairobi
After breakfast, you explore the city and its attractions. Activities include a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum (author of Out of Africa), the giraffe sanctuary, a city tour, and the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Lunch will be at Karen Blixen Restaurant. Overnight at Nairobi Serena Hotel.
Day 3: Drive from Nairobi to Naivasha
After breakfast, you will be met by your driver/guide and depart by road to Lake Naivasha. Spend your first day at Lake Naivasha in the glorious garden surrounds of Loldia House. You may choose to go horse riding, go on a boat trip on the Lake, or visit the local school. In the evenings your special dinners and sundowners are organised.
Overnight at Loldia House.
Day 4: Visit Lake Nakuru
After breakfast drive to nearby Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive. Lake Nakuru Park started life as a bird sanctuary before becoming a National Park. The lake itself is shallow and strongly alkaline which attracts huge flocks of flamingos that dapple the shoreline. It is home to herds of zebra, waterbuck, and buffalo as well as the endangered Rothschild giraffe and other mammals.
It is also possible to see a pride of lions during game drives and it's one of the best places in Kenya to spot leopards. The park is an important sanctuary for white and endangered black rhinos which can be seen resting in the shade of acacia trees on the lake shore. Later return to Loldia House for overnight.
Day 5: Flight Naivasha to Maasai Mara
After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a flight to Maasai Mara reserve. The Maasai Mara is the most popular reserve in Kenya setting the scene for the Great Migration that occurs annually between June and October. Over 1 million wildebeest flood the reserve after traveling north from the Serengeti in Tanzania, along with large herds of other herbivores all looking for the best grazing. Closely following the herbivores are the predators, most notably lions and hyenas. Overnights at Governors Camp.
Day 6 and 7: Maasai Mara
Safari and cultural activities. There are many activities to do during your stay such as bush walking, Maasai village visits, picnics, and sundowners as well as the usual 4x4 game drive. Overnight Governors Camp.
Day 8: Flight to Nairobi
You return by light aircraft to Nairobi. Meals and overnight at Nairobi Serena Hotel.
Day 9: Flight from Nairobi to Diani
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Diani. On arrival at the Diani Airstrip, you will be met by a Hallmark Travel Planners rep and transferred to Almanara Resort. Almanara is situated on the south coast of Kenya, a 1 ½ hour ride south from Mombasa, on the beach of the Indian Ocean. All meals and overnight at Almanara Resort.
Day 10 to Day 13: Beach Activities at Almanara Resort - Diani
Relaxation and beach activities. All meals and activities at Almanara Resort.
Day 14: Depart
Transfer to Diani Airstrip or Mombasa Airport for a flight to Nairobi. Connect your international flight back home.
