This safari itinerary covers Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Spot herds of Elephants, cheetahs, buffalo, wildebeests, antelopes and different kinds of bird species. Experience the rich culture of the Maasai people by visiting one of their Villages (Manyatta).
Day 1: Nairobi–Amboseli
Pick up from the Nairobi hotel or the airport in the early morning. Depart Nairobi for Amboseli National Park, a drive of less than 5 hours to Amboseli, which lies on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will arrive with a short game drive, proceeding to your lodge for check-in and lunch.
Check in at your hotel. Later in the afternoon, more game drives. Mount Kilimanjaro offers scenic backgrounds for photography. Elephants, Lions, cheetahs, and Buffalo can be seen in the swamp area. Later dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge or AA Lodge Amboseli.
Day 2: Amboseli – Nairobi
Early morning game drives and return to your lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, check out with a packed lunch for another game drive. The Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya's most popular parks.
The name "Amboseli" comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust", and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here, ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. Game drive until around 12 hours lunchtime. Afterwards, check out of the park and then drive to Nairobi, a less than 5-hour drive to Nairobi.
You will arrive in Nairobi in the evening, around 5 to 6 p.m. Afterwards, you will be dropped off at your respective hotel or Airport.
