Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – Overnight
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative. You will be transferred to Sarova Panafric Hotel for an overnight stay. Booked on a bed and breakfast meal plan.
Day 2: Drive from Nairobi to Aberdare National Park
Breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi. After breakfast, depart by road to Aberdare National Park. You are expected to arrive in time for lunch.
The 766 sq. km area of Aberdare is rich in wildlife. The Salient, stretching towards the nearby town of Nyeri, was once an elephant migration route, although it is no longer used today. These magnificent animals remain within the park, along with buffalo, a wide variety of antelope, giant forest hogs, the elusive bongo, rhinos, lions, and hyenas. Birdlife is abundant and varied, including species such as the Tacazze Sunbird, Malachite Sunbird, Mountain Buzzard, and African Goshawk.
Enjoy overnight game viewing from the comfort of your room at Serena Mountain Lodge. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Drive from Aberdare to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast at the Tree Hotel, depart for the Rift Valley area. You will arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park and have lunch at the lodge. After lunch, relax at your lodge until 16:30 hours, followed by a game drive until sunset.
Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the finest ornithological sites in the world and a famous habitat for thousands of flamingos that feed on the algae in the shallow lake. A superb example of conservation, Lake Nakuru, with assistance from the World Wildlife Foundation, provides sanctuary for Rothschild giraffes, black and white rhinos, and leopards living in harmony within this unique ecosystem.
The edge of the lake is often a crimson ribbon of greater and lesser flamingos, while pelicans and other water birds move gracefully in flotillas. Dinner and overnight at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp or similar. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Drive from Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park before breakfast. After breakfast, depart for the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You will arrive in time for lunch at the Mara. Check in at the lodge. After lunch, relax until the late afternoon game drive, which continues until sunset. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or similar. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Day in Maasai Mara
At 06:30 hours, enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at your lodge. You may proceed for another game drive in the Mara with a picnic lunch if you wish. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge or similar. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Drive to Nairobi – Departure
An early morning game drive will be followed by breakfast before departing for Nairobi. You will arrive in the early afternoon and proceed to the Carnivore Restaurant for lunch. (B, L, D)
