This trek offers some of the best views of the main peaks, with a gradual ascent that can be done leisurely. We traverse the mountain by ascending the Sirimon track, then join the Timau route, followed by the Chogoria route, and finally descend via the Naro Moru track.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Nairobi – Judmaiers Camp (3,300m)

Pick up from Nairobi Airport or hotel and drive to the Mt. Kenya region, arriving at Nanyuki at 1100 hrs, where you will meet the guides and porters who will assist you in sorting your trekking equipment. You will then be driven to the Sirimon Gate. Enjoy an easy 3-hour walk through the equatorial forest to Judmaier's Camp (3,300m) for an overnight stay in high-altitude mountain tents.

Day 2: Judmaier Camp – Sirimon Valley (3,940m)

After breakfast, trek up through the moorland and break away from the Sirimon track at an altitude of 3,940m, contouring into the Sirimon Valley. This is a seldom-visited area with a tremendous amount of wildlife. Overnight in Sirimon Valley at 3,940m.

Day 3: Sirimon Valley – Hall Tarns (4,300m)

Start early from the Sirimon Valley and head into the upper Hinde Valley. You will then cross the Nithi and Gorges Valleys. This is undoubtedly one of the most scenic areas of the mountain, with its 1,000m vertical cliffs, virgin valleys, and cascading waterfalls, making it one of the most spectacular trekking areas in Kenya. Overnight at Hall Tarns (4,300m).

Day 4: Excursion Day

Descend to Lake Michaelson, located in the depths of the Gorges Valley. Visit the incredible cave formation known as the Temple. Walk down the valley to Vivienne Falls (named after the famous author of Speak to the Earth). Return to camp in the afternoon. Overnight at Hall Tarns (4,300m).

Day 5: Hall Tarns – Pt. Lenana (4,985 m) – Met. Station (3,080m)

Begin a pre-dawn ascent to the third-highest peak, Pt. Lenana (4.985 m). An early start allows you to reach the summit in time for sunrise and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. On a clear day, you may even see Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. The ascent takes approximately 4 hours. Descend to Teleki Valley on the western side of the mountain to Mackinder’s Camp for breakfast and a short rest. In the afternoon, continue descending through the moorland to Met. Station for dinner and an overnight stay (3,080m).

Day 6: Met. Station – Nairobi

Depart Met. Station after breakfast and hike down through the forest to Naro Moru Park Gate, where vehicles will be waiting to transfer you to your next destination. End of tour.
