This safari itinerary covers; Aberdares National Park, Samburu Game Reserve, Olpajeta Ranch, Lake Nakuru National Park, and Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Explore Mount Kenya, the Great Rift Valley, the plain of Samburu, and Masai Mara. Day 1: Nairobi - Aberdares National Park
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or Airport in the morning and depart Nairobi to Aberdares National Park. The drive will be 3 and a half hours to Aberdares Country Club which is the base hotel for The Ark Hotel. Check in and have lunch.
After lunch and in the afternoon you will be transferred to The Ark Lodge, which has four viewing decks with balconies and lounges that overlook watering holes where wild animals frequent. You will have a superb game viewing from the comfort of the lodge. The animals come to you rather than you going to look for them!
Later dinner and overnight at The Ark Hotel.
Day 2: Aberdares National Park – Samburu Game Reserve
Leave Aberdares and depart for Samburu Game Reserve After breakfast via Isiolo. On arrival have game en route to the lodge for lunch as well as check-in. After lunch, relax until 16:00hrs, time for the evening game drive. Spot the rare Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Somali Ostrich, and the gravy Zebra. Samburu is the home to different bird species. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu camp or Sarova Shaba Lodge.
Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve
Spend a whole day in Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives; spot the rare Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Somali Ostrich, and the gravy Zebra. Samburu is the home to different bird species. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu camp or Sarova Shaba Lodge.
Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve – Olpajeta Ranch, Sweet Water Sanctuary
Early morning breakfast. With a game drive en route, leave Samburu Game Reserve for Olpajeta Ranch which houses Sweet Water Game Sanctuary. The drive will be around 3 and a half hours to the main gate. Later check-in at the Camp for lunch and relax, sweetwaters are the only sanctuary in Kenya for the rehabilitation of the widely abused chimpanzees with two groups living in an environment that is as close to their natural habitat as possible.
The site is also a dedicated black rhino breeding area. Afternoon game drives across the Park. Later return for Dinner and overnight at Sweet Waters Serena Tented Camp.
Day 5: Sweetwater Sanctuary - Lake Nakuru National Park
Early morning breakfast, then depart for Lake Nakuru National Park Via Isiolo. Stop for lunch at Thomson’s Waterfall, arriving around 14:00 hours in Lake Nakuru National Park. The afternoon game drive takes you to the lake to view Flamingoes and pelicans.
Also, spot White/Black Rhinos, Rothschild Giraffe and Waterbucks. The Lake Forest attracts a wide variety of birds. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge or Flamingo Hill Tented Camp
Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park - Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Early morning breakfast. After breakfast leave Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara. The drive will be 5 hours to the main gate. You will pass through Narok the famous Masai town. You will arrive in time for lunch. Check-in at your Camp.
Relax until 16:00 Hours time for an evening game drive with a chance to see the Big Five; Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, and Leopard; Spot herds of Wildebeests, Zebras, Gazelles, Impalas and Masai Giraffes, and other kinds of African wildlife in this fascinating wildlife paradise. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara game Camp, or Ashnil Mara camp.
Day 7: Maasai Mara National Reserve
Spend a whole day viewing wildlife in Masai Mara Game Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. Have a chance to see the “BIG FIVE”: Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard. Wildebeests, Zebras, Cheetahs, Gazelles, and other kinds of African wildlife can also be easily spotted. Witness the famous wildebeests (Gnu) and zebra migration from Serengeti (Tanzania) to Maasai Mara (Kenya) between July and September; this movement is one of the world's wonders.
Masai Mara is the stomping ground of the Great Migration, a massive accumulation of 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras, and 350,000 gazelles stretching their legs over 1,200 miles in an annual race to find enough water and green grass for their survival. More afternoon game drives at this jewel park of Kenya.
Dinner and Overnight at Sarova Mara Game Camp, or Ashnil Mara Camp.
Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi
Early Morning breakfast at your camp, check out of the camp, and drive to Nairobi. arriving in time for lunch. Lunch at Carnivore afterwards drop off at your respective hotel or Airport around 3.00 pm.
Optional to our clients with evening Flights:- if you have an evening flight you can do more game drives with packed lunch till around 12:00hrs lunchtime, and afterward drive to Nairobi. You arrive in Nairobi at around 5 to 6 pm drop off at the Airport or back to your hotel.
